Deplaned, boss, deplaned! Even though the Bojinka redux -- multiple international airliners brought down by a coordinated explosive strike -- was foiled today, the economic impacts continue. The total shutdown of Heathrow has thrown air schedules into disarray, with the result that travellers are stranded across the United States. In my case, I've spent eight hours at LaGuardia dealing with AirTran, whose service reps have a distressing tendency to hide or, when that fails, to simply lie about flight status. Worst. Airline. Ever.

I'm sure that the economic damages due to a publicized but failed terror strike will be of great analysts, but for now I'm just looking for a way out.
