The wire is reporting that Dean is expected to end his campaign today, following his third-place showing in Wisconsin. It's been widely expected that Dean, whose antipathy to Kerry is well-known, will at least tacitly throw his support to Edwards. If so, that could give Edwards a significant boost if Dean's delegates sign on with the southern Senator.
The Democrats have only collected a few hundred delegates, and there's thousands left to pick up. If Edwards picks up momentum between now and March, the race for the nomination could last right up to the convention.
